October was a very eventful month in our Rotary District, but where do I start telling you about it.
Sitting on pins and needles with fingers crossed and breath held, we finally received the approval of our long awaited $20,000 Public Image Grant. It took no time at all for Public Image Director Pauline Hershey-Gambino at The Agency at All Valley to muster her resources together. CBS Outdoor had our first Billboard up on October 25th. The campaign includes 26 Billboards over 16 weeks in Monterey, Fresno, Tulare, and Kings Counties. This represents every area in District 5230 where CBS Outdoor has display billboards. And yes there have been sightings already. At my visitation to the Tulare Latino Club someone confessed to a sighting in Fresno. WOW that’s darn good eyesight!
Our Public Image campaign doesn’t stop with the Billboards. There will be Television Commercials on PBS at the beginning and end of “Nature” and “The Antique Road Show”. If that isn’t enough, we’ve also added a Facebook component. With all this effort, it is very important that each club reinforces its own Public Image Campaign by tooting your own horn in your local media during this time where we have heightened awareness of Rotary in our District.
Our second launch in October was the blast off of RotaryYP.org. The Grand Opening Special has been the incentive for many to take advantage of special pricing through October 31st. We are on our way and already seeing the benefits of this unique service. One of our Club Presidents “Michael Sheltzer, Visalia Sunrise” found an electrician to assist in a kitchen remodel. So it does work! I’ve been waiting for a cement contractor for a small job but none have listed so far. If you know of one, please ask them to sign on.
Thanks to each and every one of you for your support. We’re shaking it up and making it happen!
